Ms. Sarah Miller

Ms. Sarah Jean Miller,69 of The Villages, FL (formerly of Sarasota, FL), transitioned from this life to be with her heavenly father on March 14, 2024.

Visitation services will be held, March 23, 2023, 11 am one hour prior to the Homegoing Services, 12 Noon at C.L. Chandler Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL 34234.

Sarah Jean Miller was born on October 24, 1954, in Nanafalia, Alabama to Lucille Chaney and Richard Miller.
She moved to Sarasota, Florida to start a life with John David Thomas, and one child came from that union. Sarah was employed in the Healthcare industry, was a social worker, cook, manager and had her own cleaning business. She was a woman of many talents.  Her favorite thing to do was to cook and feed people. She enjoyed making people laugh and was the life of the party.  Sarah loved her family and was a praying woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Miller and Lucille Chaney, sister, Retta Chaney and brother, Rodger Chaney.

She leaves to cherish her memories…

*Two sons, John David Thomas II and Julius Lee Miller, Sr., of Sarasota, FL;
*One daughter, Ceciella Navonne Miller of Sarasota, FL;

*One godson, Edward Williams, Jr. of Sarasota, FL

*Two stepsons, Daniel Turner and Mark Turner, both of New Jersey
* Two sisters, Wylenn Wilson and Alma Chaney, both of
Birmingham, AL

*One brother, Hill Chaney, of Birmingham, AL;

14 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, a devoted grandson, Zayvius Miller, who loved his grandma so much he tattooed her name on him.

Sarah’s special ones, Deanna Stringer(niece), Tony Reynolds(bonus son), Katina Grant-Adams(cuz) and best friends, Mamie and Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
