The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Juanita Cannon will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton, FL. The Visitation will be held one (1) hour prior to the start of the services. Interment will follow at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, FL.

Juanita Cannon was born on March 6, 1933, in Naylor, Georgia to Henry Howard and Lillie Bell Smith.

Juanita accepted the Lord in her life at a very young age. She was raised by her aunt in Valdosta, Georgia and later moved to Bradenton, Florida, where she was employed with Pan Am Plant Nursery, retiring with over 35 years of service. Whenever Juanita was asked how she was doing, she would always respond with her favorite saying of “Fairly well by the grace of God”. Juanita was blessed to be married to Joseph Cannon, Sr. for over 60 years.

Juanita Cannon transitioned after 91 years on this earth for her eternal home on April 3, 2024.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cannon, Sr., parents, Henry Howard and Lillie Bell Smith, children, Joseph Cannon, Jr., Eugene Cannon, Gladys Rumph and Nathaniel Cannon, daughter-in-law, Cathy Cannon, brothers, Eddie Smith, Charles Smith and Ozzie Lee Smith and sisters, Vera Ponder, Willie Mae Finniese, Shirley Robinson, April Randall and Sandra Woodard.

She leaves cherished memories to, Sons: Jerry Cannon, Alphonzo Cannon (Liz), Charles Cannon (Glenda) and Willie Cannon (Cindy); Daughters: Louise Purvis, Faye Cannon and Gloria Minnis (Adlai); Brothers: Molefi Asante, Paul Smith and Ralph Smith; Sisters: Lucille Mitchell, Carolyn Murphy, Arbrenda Smith and Linda Washington (Edmond); Son-in-law: Larry Rumph; And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren,
great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing relatives and friends.
