Mr. Samuel Langston, 78, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in the charming town of Otter Creek, FL, to the late Solomon and Ella Mae Langston, Samuel L. Langston Sr.’s life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his community. A proud graduate of Booker High School’s class of 1963, he pursued a career in construction for over thirty years, achieving the status of Master Mason. His skill was rivaled only by his love for storytelling and his adept use of clichés, which made him beloved by all who knew him.
Sam leaves a legacy filled with love and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara, who was his steadfast partner in every high and low. His legacy lives on through his son, Samuel Jr., and his daughters, Dena Pearl and Tinsley, who were the light of his life. His grandchildren, Kesha, Zahir, and Jeremiah, and his great-granddaughter, Layla, will also hold his memory dear. He is also remembered by his sisters, Janie Green, Mildred Thomas, and Theresa Haygood, and a multitude of treasured family and friends.
