Hattie devoted her life to serving the Lord and was a member of Truvine Missionary Baptist Church, where she lifted her voice in praise and sang in the senior choir. She was a beloved caregiver at Plymouth Harbor, where she labored and served for many years. She was the rock of her family evidenced by her full life of sacrifice, grit, and unshakable faith. To her family, she was a superhero, a woman with strength, selflessness, and endless love.  To the community, she was a “Mother to Everyone,”- known for opening her heart and home to anyone in need. Her strength was remarkable, but nothing outshined her generosity. Whether through warm meals, wise counsel, or quiet prayers, she gave and touched the lives of all who knew her.
Hattie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking, sewing, reading her Bible, attending church, and spending time with her loved ones and her dog, “Paris.” Her legacy is one of faith, love and service-and it will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
After her mission was complete, and her work was done, Hattie Lee Rivers departed this life on September 6th, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. May her beautiful spirit shine through the lives of all she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Bass Rivers, mother, Louiza Lynum Rivers, son, James Eric Rivers, brother, John Henry Rivers and grandparents, Hannah (Michell) Lynum and John W. Lynum and Tempie (West) Ruggs and Edward Rivers.
