Lisa Marie Dozier was born on November 21, 1966, in Bellport, New York, to the late Janice Dozier and the late Charles Smith.

She spent her early years on Long Island before her family moved to Lakeland, Florida, where she truly came into her own. At Kathleen Senior High School, Lisa was impossible to miss, full of energy, quick with a smile, and always dancing her way across the field with the cheerleading squad. Anyone who knew her back then will tell you: Lisa had a way of lighting up a room.

That warmth never faded. Lisa carried herself with grace her whole life, the kind of woman people remembered long after meeting her. She believed deeply in bettering herself, earning an Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida, and later an MBA from Northcentral University, proof of her quiet determination.

For more than 20 years, Lisa built a respected career in insurance, rooted in hard work and integrity. She wore many hats: Claims Adjuster, Claims Litigation Adjuster, and proud owner of her own agency, The Lisa Dozier Brightway Insurance Agency, before settling into her role as a Commercial Claims BI Adjuster in Dallas, Texas. Wherever she worked, Lisa brought the same steady professionalism and care.

But of all her titles, the ones closest to her heart came from the people who loved her most. To her grandson, Aiden, she was “Nana,” a title she wore with pure joy, spoiling him endlessly and introducing him early to the finer things in life, like lobster and seafood. To some close friends, she was simply “LD.” To many others, she was Lisa. But to her three daughters, no name meant more than “Mom,” a role she cherished and carried with unwavering love and pride.

Family was the center of Lisa’s life. She loved, respected, and cherished her three daughters beyond measure, who meant the world to her. She delighted in spoiling her grandson, Aiden, and her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her granddaughter, Emery. Lisa also shared a close, lifelong bond with her brother, Anthony “Tony,” and was a steady, loving presence for her aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, always ready to lend her support.

On June 23, 2026, Lisa Marie Dozier was called home to be with the Lord, entering into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Janice Dozier Brantley and Charles Smith.

Lisa is lovingly remembered by her husband Anthony Snipes, her children, Shayla Ochoa (Juan Carlos Ochoa), Cherise Brown (Mike Lanier), and Alea Brown, her grandchildren, Aiden Lanier and Emery Lanier; her brother, Anthony Dozier (Cathy Dozier); her nephews, Anthony Dozier Jr. and Alex Dozier; and a host of cousins, family members, and close friends whose lives she touched.

Arrangement’s Entrusted to Chandler’s Funeral Home.
