Gloria J. Hawthorne, 62, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on July 22, 2022, in Sarasota, FL. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Johnson Camp. She was a Baptist.
She was an outstanding cook known by many because of her 20 plus years employment with Pines of Sarasota. She later retired from that facility.
She was predeceased by her parents, the late Charles Robinson, Sr., and the late Mary Francis Robinson. She leaves cherished memories of her life to her two sons: Albert Frasier, II, and Joshua Tyrell Thompson; two daughters: Alyssa Frasier and Chanequa Salter; three sisters: Regina Thomas (Robert), Reneé Jacobs, and Josephine “Tina” Davis; five brothers: Lester Hawthorne (Vivian), Gregory Crenshaw, Clifton Crenshaw, Charles Robinson Jr. (Debra), and Virgil Hawthorne (Kim); a special son-in-law, Christopher Smith, Sr., seven grandchildren: Shauntavia Green, Canaidja Salter, Shavanti Salter, Cartravius Salter, Africa Anderson, Alanie Frasier, and Chistopher Smith Jr; three great-grandchildren: Sakari Green, Saveion Green, and Saffijah Green; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 5, 2022, 6-8 P.M., at Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL. Homegoing Services will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Light of the World International Church, 3809 Chapel Dr., Sarasota, FL. Chandler’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
