Visitation Services for Rodney Haygood will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, 6-8PM at Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL 34234.  Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2023, 11 AM at Trinity Fellowship Christian Church, 1800 N East Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34234.

Rodney Haygood peacefully embraced the arms of the Lord on February 16, 2024. He was born on February 10, 1982, in Sarasota, Florida, was a man of unwavering dedication, infectious joy, and boundless love, has transitioned to the glorious kingdom of heaven. Rodney leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion. We find solace knowing that he now rejoices with his father, Thomas (The Cat) Spann. Raised with a tireless work ethic, Rodney approached every undertaking with steadfast commitment, earning the admiration and respect of all who crossed his path.

Rodney was a beacon of loyalty, his smile a constant source of light to those around him. He cherished his family above all else, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. His presence at every milestone and gathering was a testament to his enduring love and support for his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Thomasa Roberts Haygood and his beloved children who were his pride and joy, each carrying a piece of his spirit forward into the future: Claretha (Reshia) Haygood, Sonique Anisha Simmons, Rodney G. Haygood Jr., Remi M. Haygood, stepchildren, Omarion Jackson and Nytaliah Roberts.

Rodney’s love extended beyond the boundaries of his immediate family, encompassing his mother, Theresa Spann; brothers, Thomas Spann Jr., Herb Haygoood, Terrence Derricks and Donald Moore; niece, Terriana Derricks; nephews, Donald (Lil Nuke) Moore Jr., Miles Haygood and Mason Haygood; mother-in-law, Mary (Nana) Walker; sisters-in-law,Erica Derricks, Emily Haygood and Gaylor Calloway and his cherished best friends, Scharron Williams and Danny Brown. He leaves behind a vast network of relative, including numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Though Rodney may have departed this life too soon, his memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of hard work, loyalty and love will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come, ensuring that his spirit lives on eternally.

Rest peacefully, dear Rodney. You will be deeply missed, but your love and light will shine on forever in the lives of those you touched.

U will always have a place in my heart, u were not onlyy just also my best friend, the void in my heart is tough. My life won’t be will never be same.
