Elouise “Ella” Bell, 84 of Parrish, Florida transitioned from earth to eternity on October 14, 2023. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20. 2023, 6-8 PM at Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Sarasota, Florida. Elouise, a beacon of love, faith, and compassion, graced this world on February 1, 1939, in the vibrant city of Bradenton Florida, to the parents of Ms. Ola Mae Higdon and Mr. Henry Samuel Higdon, Sr. Her journey was one of resilience, dedication, and unwavering devotion to her family, community, and faith. As we reflect upon her remarkable life and the legacy she leaves behind, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Elouise’s thirst for knowledge and her desire to make a difference led her to Rochester, New York, where she pursued her studies in nursing. Her compassionate nature and
genuine concern for others made her an exceptional caregiver, and she dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving the state of New York at a psychiatric hospital. Elouise’s unwavering commitment to her patients and her ability to provide comfort and care to those in need made her an invaluable asset to the hospital and a source of inspiration to her colleagues.
After a fulfilling career, Elouise decided to retire and return to her beloved Florida. It was there that she truly flourished in her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, and minister of the gospel. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding each and every one of them. Elouise’s wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support were a constant source of strength for her loved ones, and her impact on their lives will forever be cherished.
Elouise’s faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she served as one of the church mothers at Jesus Cares Deliverance Center under the leadership of Pastor Louise Jones. Her dedication to her spiritual community was evident in her unwavering commitment to spreading the love and teachings of the gospel. Elouise’s gentle spirit and profound wisdom touched the lives of all and teachings of the gospel. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
Beyond her numerous accomplishments, Elouise had a zest for life that was contagious. Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her laughter was infectious. She possessed a warmand nurturing presence that brought comfort to those around her, and her genuine love for others was felt by all who crossed her path.
Elouise’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and faith. She leaves behind a profound impact on her son and grandchild “Shawn”, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her unwavering devotion to her family, her community, and her faith will forever be etched in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Bryant, Jr., Henry Samuel, Jr., James Higdon, Sr. and her sister, Mary Alice Brown.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories her three grandchildren, Oscar W. Bowman III,
Maurice L. Bowman and Shawn Bowman; 29 great-grandchildren, one expected great-granddaughter on November 3, 2023, Lil Miss Halo Elise Bowman and other relatives and friends.
