With profound respect and deep affection, we announce the passing of Ms. Davilyn Sherresa Johnson, a lifelong resident of Sarasota, Florida. She departed this life on June 27, 2024, at the age of fifty-nine. Born on November 20, 1964, in the same beloved town, Davilyn was educated at Booker Elementary and Booker High School, continuing her studies at Manatee Community College. She was known for her lively and compassionate spirit, finding joy in life’s simple beauties such as cinema, music, dance, and ballet.
Davilyn is survived by her mother, Ms. Betty Johnson; sons, Jim Rashod Smith and Jamarr Aaron Johnson; brother, Mr. Ricky A. Johnson (Liz); sisters, Ms. Carisa E. Johnson and Mrs. Carita L. Montgomery (Leon); uncles, Saul Johnson, Jr. (Melowese) and Aaron Johnson (Tonja); nieces, Brianna Griggs (Collin), Nia, and Kaylan Montgomery; nephew, Joshua Montgomery; great-nephew, Jaylan Hunter; sister-in-law, Sheila Mayes Johnson (Marvin); childhood friend, Erma Epps; godmother, Juanita Cherry; ; brother, Sean Butler; sisters, Rachel, Mercedes, April, Victoria, and Angela Thomas; and a host of relatives and friends mourning her loss. She joins in rest her husband, Mr. George Johnson, and her cherished grandparents, Saul and Blanche Johnson, Roosevelt father, Johnny Thomas.
