Ms. Shirley Green, 73, of Sarasota, FL, transitioned on October 26, 2023. Visitation will be 5PM-7PM, Friday, November 3, 2023 at Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Way, Sarasota, FL. Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023,1 PM at Shining Light COGIC, 1106 71st Street E, Palmetto, FL 34221.
Shirley Green-Smith, affectionately known to family and friends as“Shell”, was born on February 27, 1950, in Bradenton, Florida to Addie M. Green and Clarence Green, Sr.
Shirley attended Lincoln Memorial School. She moved to Maryland in 1967 and was employed with Maryland Plastics and later withPerdue Chicken Farm, where she met her husband of more than 20 years. Their union produced three children.
She enjoyed homemaking and teaching her daughters how to keep house, to cook, clean and sew. She was well known for her many dishes, especially her potato salad that no one can duplicate!!! She was a devout Christian, who gave her life to the Lord at an early age under the principles of the Church of Christ. She raised her children in the concept of Christianity. Although she had some tough mountains to scale and hills to climb, her faith remained unwavering that GOD WOULD SEE HER THROUGH and never forsake her!

Shirley Green-Smith departed this earthly life to enter her eternalhome on October 26, 2023, Sarasota, Florida.
She is predeceased by her mother, Addie M. Green, father, Clarence
Green, Sr., brothers, Lee R. Greene, Sr. and John L. Green and a
grandson, J´marraion L. Greene.
