Ms. Willie Beatrice Bryant (87) of Sarasota, FL. Interment will be at Palms Memorial Park 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. Ms. Willie Beatrice Bryant, affectionately known as “Willie Bea” was born on October 23, 1937, to the late Tom and Beatrice Woodard. Willie Bea is a 1958 graduate of Booker High School (where she was a star basketball player) and received an associate degree from Cortez W. Peters Business College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. She was blessed after 36 years of employment with Sarasota Memorial Hospital to retire in 1995 and spend more time enjoying her family, sports and fishing. As the Matriarch of her family, her joy was her hosting family gatherings and making her infamous “crab salad”. Her home was always open to her family and friends. Willie Bea departed this life on Sunday, June 29,2025, peacefully at home.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Tom and Beatrice Woodard, Brothers Jame, Jessie, Thomas and Tommy Woodard and Sister Bernice Woodard Olave, Niece, Lisa Olave and Nephew Larry Woodard. Her legacy and memories will forever be cherished by her daughter Lorin Bryant, special grandniece/daughter Kiara Reed, brother Timothy “Levi” Woodard. Grandson Devante Bryant Sr., Great grandson Aiden and Devante Bryant Jr., Nieces and Nephews Brenda Jones, Linda Herring, Edith Ford, Cheryl King, Sherry Fowler, Kim McFadden, Louis Olave, Thomas Woodard Jr., Timothy Woodard Jr., Michael Woodard and Aaron Woodard. And a Host of grand and great grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
