Rev. Ronald R. Fortune, Sr. 78, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on August 10, 2022. Rev. Fortune was born and raised in Bradenton, FL, to the late Ms. Almena Robbie Fortune and Mr. William Bill Rome on April 2, 1944.
Left to cherish the precious memories of Rev. Ronald R. Fortune, Sr., are two daughters, Wanda E. McCarter and Rosa M. Newsome; three sons: Rev. Charles Newsome (Gwendolyn), Ronald (Rickey) Fortune, Jr. (Julie), and Kevin L. Fortune; seven sisters: JoAnn Fortune-Cotton, Helen Rome, Trena McDonald, Alice Givens, Rose Marie Hammond, Estelle Sailes, and Pamela Coachman; three brothers: Thaddeus Fortune (Marguerite), Billy Rome, and Floyd Rome (Lisa); three sisters-in-law: Shirley J. Pearson, Laura M. Wallace (Elihu), and Rita B. Smith; three brothers-in-law: Moses Newsome, Jr. (Francis), Gregory L. Newsome (Sabrina), and Larry J. Newsome (Bettye); two special cousins: Jonny Fortune of Bradenton, FL, and Olivia Fortune Brown of Peachtree City, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-8 P.M., Friday, August 19, 2022, at Ward Temple A.M.E. Church, 1017 5th Street West, Bradenton. Homegoing Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Avenue East, Bradenton, FL. Arrangements by Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin L.
