Ronald Edward Platt, Sr., affectionately known as “Click Click”, was born in Boynton Beach, Florida, on September 12, 1957. Ronald, 64, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on April 1, 2022. His family relocated to Sarasota, Florida, where he attended Booker and Sarasota High School. He dedicated 31 years to the City of Sarasota, and retired on January 1, 2010.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Elodis Platt; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Acie Weston Platt, Jr., and his eldest son, Ronald Edward Platt, Jr.
Mr. Platt leaves to mourn his passing, his children: Antwaun Platt, Reginald Condell, Tiffany Tolson, Darian Platt (Ashley), Roneisha Platt, Meshon Platt, Aaron Martin (Toccara), and Lee Martin; three sisters: Missionary Dorothy Elizabeth Bryant, Pastor Carolyn Mason, and Shirley Ann Langston (Johnnie); three uncles and two aunts: Reverend John Henry Garvin (Louise), Pastor Lucille Grubbs, Reverend Louis Garvin, and Mr. Robert Gary; a loving and devoted friend, Terri Diaz; twenty-one grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at Chandler’s Funeral Home, 1425 Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Way, Sarasota, FL. Homegoing Services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at First Born Church, 217 10th Avenue East, Bradenton, FL. Chandler’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
