Mr. Roosevelt Humphrey (83) affectionately known as “Slick” to family and friends, was born on July 7, 1942, in Canton, Mississippi.  Roosevelt’s Homegoing Service will be Sunday July, 12, 2026 at 2:30pm at New Life Tabernacle Sulphur Springs ~ 3111 E. Wilder Avenue Tampa, Florida 33610

Roosevelt took up masonry as a trade and was employed in the masonry industry for over 50 years.
He loved to barbecue, watch sports, listen to music and spend time with family. Roosevelt was a believer of Christ.

Roosevelt Humphrey departed this life on July 2, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Humphrey and stepdaughter, Debra Green Patrick.
He leaves cherished memories to his daughters: Yolanda Allen, Belissa McLendon and fiancé Allen, Beverly McLendon-Cross and husband Zachary and Martha Carter; Sons: Michael Edwards and Bernard McLendon; Stepson: Billy K. McLendon and wife Michelle;

Grandchildren: Latashia Sessions, Toya Allen, Patrick Allen, Voneshia Marie Gillette, Tiara Marie, Antonio McLendon, Brittani, Nicole and William McLendon; Great-grandchildren: Grace Smith, Kayden Allen, Maya Grantt, Jace Allen, Ivy Allen, Marycarle Allen, True Hodges, Dream Hodges, Kane Hodges, Naomi McLendon and Amir McLendon; Son-in-law: Darryl Patrick; Sisters-in-law: Dorothy “Jean” Davis and Rose Davis; Special nephews: Horace “Junior” Burnett and Mario Davis.
And a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

I am so sorry for the family loss, please know that I am thinking of the family during this difficult time slick was a good person and a great father in law to me, he will be missed. I am continuing praying for family.
